Rihana Galloway-Dawkins is a native of Chattanooga, Tennessee and moved to New Orleans in 2001 to attend Loyola University where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree. She went on to graduate from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, New Orleans School of Nursing in 2008. After her graduation, Rihana began working as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department caring for patients of all ages with a variety of health conditions, and did so for more than a decade. She joined the SCCSL in January 2021. It is her goal to collaborate with other professionals to improve the care of individuals diagnosed with sickle cell through advocacy and teaching.
